All the participating youth will have to show an interest in reconciliation. For the teens from the Middle East that will require a will to listen to the ‘other side’.
There will be meeting before the camp starts for the participants to get a first impression of each other and of what they will do together. Our partner in Israel ‘Musalaha’ (include link) will do the recruiting and preparation for the teenagers coming from the Middle East.
The EU kids need to have an open mind and an ear to listen. All teenagers already have their opinions and world views and we will not attempt to change it. What we will do in the preparation is to teach them where intolerance and stereotyping will lead to and about the complexity of the Middle East problem.
